CLIENT CHALLENGE
As a Scottish Government Directorate, Marine Scotland works with partner organisations to manage Scotland’s seas. This involves supporting Fisheries Protection, Aquaculture and Marine Science. To ensure that they are well placed to meet future challenges head on, Marine Scotland wanted to complete an independent high-level strategic review of their IT and digital provision .
WHAT WE DID
We explored their existing provision of IT services, including factors that influence the current provision and that are likely to influence the future development of IT services. With this, we developed a Technology and Capability Blueprint and a Roadmap covering IT and Digital Strategy, IT and Digital Governance, key information systems, staff organisation skills, capabilities and resourcing, and digital infrastructure.
WHAT WE ACHIEVED
- Compelling Case for Change - We developed a compelling case for change, aligned with operational goals, outlining our recommendations for the future provision of IT services.
- Stakeholder Commitment - Through thorough stakeholder engagement we fostered commitment and a strong foundation to put our recommendations into action.
- User-Centric Design - Our solution was designed with the users at heart, ensuring that it will respond to what they truly need.
- Informed Decision-Making - Our Technology and Capability Blueprint and Roadmap gave Marine Scotland a structured framework to help make informed decisions when working towards their future ambitions.
